Exercising and How It Effects Your Back

If you stay fit, it helps prevent low back problems. However, some precautions are necessary. When exercising, follow these back saving guidlines.

1)Stretch, both before & after playing sports or exercising.  Dynamic warm up is preferred before.    Add a massage device like the Stick or massage roller to help rehabilitate muscles.   

2) Begin slowly and carefully, especially when returning to an activity you’ve been away from.

3) Don’t overdo it. Pain may begin several hours after an activity, not when the injury occurs.   Always ice after a hard workout.

4) Some activities may not be good for you.   If a certain exercise aggravated your back then modify it or do a different one for the same muscle group you are targeting.

5) Add regular adjustments to your exercise program.

There is no excuse not to stay in shape, but there is also no need to cause yourself undo pain.
