When walking, always wear the appropriate shoes. They should be somewhat loose and comfortable on your feet. No pinching or rubbing in the wrong places.  Custom made orthotics from Back to Life correct arches, rotate the knee and hip to correct position.  Get Scanned on your next visit.   https://backtolifechiropracticky.com/back-to-life-system/arches/

Grass and pavement are where you wear a good, sturdy pair of jogging shoes. When the heel shows a lot of wear on the bottom, i’s time to replace them. If you are in rough terrain or wooded areas, decent hiking shoes/boots are called for. These give the traction you need over the type of ground you are covering so there are no slips or falls to injure you. Walk with a buddy whenever possible, especially when hiking in wooded areas.

Warm-up properly. This is stretching, legs and arms. Drink water before you start and also have some with you as you go. Proper hydration feeds the muscles and helps the body remove the build up of muscle waste from using them.   Check out the Flexibility section of our Back to Life System to download stretches.  https://backtolifechiropracticky.com/back-to-life-system/flexibility-category/

Wear loose fitting, breathable fabrics. You don’t want to overheat once you get going. The general rule, is to dress for 40 degrees warmer than it is to avoid this from happening. In the summer, earl morning before the sun heats everything up is best.

Always wear your sunscreen. Winter or summer, the sun will burn you cause delays in progress while the burn heals.
