Good • Fair • Poor — Where Do You Rank?
Just like filling out your March Madness bracket, your health can be scored too. One of the simplest ways to evaluate your spine is by looking at posture.
Posture Self-Check
Look at yourself (or have someone else look) and check the following:
- Head: Is it level, or tilted to one side?
- Shoulders: Are they even, or is one higher?
- Hips: Are they level, or does one side sit higher?
Scoring
- Good = 10 points (Level and balanced)
- Fair = 5 points (Slight imbalance)
- Poor = 0 points (Noticeable imbalance)
Total your score out of 30.
What Your Score Means
The alignment of your head, shoulders, and hips plays a major role in your spinal health.
When one area is off, it can create pressure on joints, discs, and nerves.
Over time, this can lead to pain, dysfunction, and degeneration.
If your score is 25 or less, it’s time to get checked.
